About

Dreaming of a Miyazaki summer? Of breezes wafting through forests of birch as you cycle/walk/raft through stunning mountain landscapes?

Or maybe your dreams are of mountains of the world’s driest powder, first tracks and back country exploring? Either way, a holiday at Tanuki Lodge in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan is all you need to make your dreams come true. It’s our home away from home, make it yours too.

Tanuki Lodge is a six bedroom hybrid Western/Japanese Style house nestled in the forest about 15 minutes drive from Hirafu village in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Renovated in summer 2012, Tanuki sports a full kitchen and 10-seat dining room table, a four-person private onsen, hydronic heating, two lounge areas and three bathrooms to have our friends and family stay in comfort and a touch of style. Otherwise it’s a house just like yours (but in Japan).

With access to over half a dozen ski resorts all boasting more powder than you’ve ever seen in your life,  cycling events, great road riding, trails, an mtb park, river rafting, bush walking and amazing food the only real question is, how long will you stay?
